The lyric sheet behind Echoes of Tomorrow, a released song

Echoes of Tomorrow is out this week on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, Amazon and Tidal, with a music video on YouTube. It is a HEHO release, and it went the whole road: an idea became a structured lyric, Suno sang it, the master went to DistroKid, and the same lyric sheet timed the captions on the phone in the video.

This is the sheet, with the actual counts and the pace of every line measured off the finished master. Everything below can be checked against the song.

The sheet, section by section

Syllables are hand-counted per line. Pace is syllables per second, measured from where each line starts and ends in the master. The take was generated on 4 September 2026, five days before Suno replaced its models with v6, so every figure here describes the model before v6.

Three things in that table were decisions, and each one shows up in how the song was sung. The free Suno lyrics check gives you the same count for your own sheet in about 10 seconds.

Verses at 10 syllables, every line

10  I used to trace the cracks along the wall
10  And wonder if the morning light would stay
10  The echoes in the hallway seemed to call
10  But I was too afraid to walk that way

Both verses are four lines of exactly 10 syllables. That keeps every line under the 12 where lines start to rush, and the same number every time lets the melody found for line one fit line four without squeezing.

The measured pace agrees. Verse one holds between 2.9 and 3.1 syllables a second across all four lines.

Verse two repeats the shape and changes the information, which is the whole job of a second verse: "The road ahead is paved with broken glass, but barefoot we have learned to dance on pain." Same 10 syllables, new picture.

A chorus at half the pace

The chorus drops to 9, 8, 9 and 7. Three of its four lines were sung at 1.7 to 1.8 syllables a second, about half the pace of the verses, which is why the chorus feels bigger with nothing added to the arrangement.

The third line is the exception. "Every scar becomes a story told" carries nine syllables, the same as the first, and it ran fastest every time the chorus came round, at 2.2 to 2.6. The count sets how much the voice has to fit, and the melody decides how long it gets.

The parentheses alternate on the sheet: chorus one opens with "(We are the echoes) of tomorrow", and chorus two flips it to "We are the echoes (of tomorrow)". Listen to where the group vocal sits in each.

The bridge pushes to 11 syllables, on purpose

11  When the night is long and the road uncertain
 9  Close your eyes and feel the beating heart
11  Behind the noise there hides a quiet curtain
 9  Pull it back and watch the world restart

The first 11-syllable line, at 3.2 syllables a second, is the fastest line in the song, and the second runs at 3.0. Each is followed by a nine sung more slowly, at 2.2 and then 1.7. Push, release, push, release, then the final chorus.

That shape was on the sheet before any take existed. The outro runs the other way: "We are the light that will not fade away" stretches 10 syllables over six seconds.

The same sheet, timed

The captions on the phone in the video were not transcribed. The words were already on the sheet, so they only had to be timed against the master, and that timing is where the pace figures above come from.

Count the lines of your own verses before you paste them, and if two verses carry different counts, even them out first.
