1. Scope

This Cookie Policy explains how Heho.ai uses cookies and similar technologies when you use the service. It supplements our Privacy Notice and is effective as of March 23, 2026.

2. What are cookies and similar technologies?

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device through your browser. Similar technologies include localStorage and sessionStorage, which allow a website to store data locally in your browser for application functionality.

Heho.ai uses a minimal set of cookies and browser storage. We do not use advertising, marketing, or behavioral tracking cookies.

3. Strictly necessary cookies

These cookies are required for the service to function. They cannot be disabled without preventing core features from working.

Authentication and session management. Heho.ai uses Clerk for authentication. Clerk sets session cookies (such as __session, __client, and related identifiers) to keep you signed in and protect against unauthorized access. These cookies are essential to the requested service and do not require consent under applicable privacy law. For more information, see the Clerk Privacy Policy.

Cookie preference. When you accept or reject cookies on this site, we store your choice in a cookie called heho_cookie_consent. This cookie persists for one year so that we do not ask you again on each visit. It is classified as strictly necessary because it is required to respect your expressed preference.

Payment processing. Heho.ai uses Stripe for payment processing. Stripe may set cookies related to fraud prevention and payment security when you interact with billing features. These cookies are necessary for the transaction you have requested. For more information, see the Stripe Cookie Policy.

4. Functional cookies

These cookies remember your preferences to provide a better experience.

Sidebar state. A cookie called sidebar_state remembers whether the application sidebar is open or closed. It expires after seven days.

5. Browser storage

In addition to cookies, Heho.ai uses browser storage for essential application functionality. This data stays on your device and is not transmitted to our servers.

Session storage (cleared when you close the tab):

• wizard state is temporarily preserved during the sign-up flow so that your song configuration is not lost when you create an account;
• pending wizard data is held during project creation.

Local storage (persists until you clear your browser data):

• project language and style preferences are saved per project so that you do not need to re-enter them;
• pending AI suggestion cards are preserved across page refreshes so that unapproved suggestions are not lost;
• editor font size preference is remembered.

None of this data is used for tracking, profiling, or advertising purposes.

6. Error monitoring

Heho.ai uses Sentry for error monitoring to maintain service reliability. Sentry does not set cookies in your browser. When an error occurs, technical data such as browser type, error details, and request metadata may be sent to Sentry. If you are signed in, existing authentication cookie headers may be included in error reports to help diagnose account-specific issues.

7. Analytics and marketing

Heho.ai does not currently use analytics cookies, advertising cookies, remarketing pixels, or cross-site tracking technologies.

If we introduce analytics or similar technologies in the future, we will update this policy and request your consent before activating them, in accordance with applicable privacy law including Quebec's Law 25.

8. Managing your preferences

You can manage cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to view, block, or delete cookies. Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent core features from working.

You can update your cookie preference at any time using the cookie settings option in the site footer. When you change your preference, the change takes effect immediately.

Under Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25), you have the right to withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawal is as simple as updating your cookie preference through the footer link.

9. International data transfers

Some of the services described in this policy (Clerk, Stripe, Sentry) may process data outside of Quebec and Canada. Where required, we apply safeguards for cross-border transfers under applicable law. For details, see Section 9 of our Privacy Notice.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. If changes are material, we will provide notice through an updated effective date at the top of this page. Material changes to cookie categories or the introduction of new tracking technologies will be communicated before they take effect.
